I really wonder if the cats are complacent in the witch's oppression or if they are slaves, victims of the societal hierarchy they were forced in by the witch. The fact that this is open to interpretation gives THERE WILL BE MUD! a certain air of intellectualism, given that the developers trust the player to form their own opinions.
